Sapientia students in Paris – Ecotrophelia Europe 2018

The international finals of Ecotrophelia Europe 2018 took place on October 21-22, 2018. The competition for creating innovative food products was organized as part of the SIAL Paris international food exhibition, where Sapbakers, the team of the Faculty of Economics, Socio-Human Sciences and Engineering, Miercurea-Ciuc represented Hungary. 

In the course of the competition, teams from 17 countries have presented their products to the jury, including biscuits, various desserts and vegan snacks, cereal bars, pizza dough, ice cream, and, of course, Sapbakers' product called Brewbun.

Our team also had the opportunity to visit the SIAL Paris food exhibition, the largest platform for presenting current trends and the latest innovations in food industry. Visitors could taste and enjoy various traditional and new products, such as black lemon-flavored cheese, almond milk coffee, peanut butter spaghetti or fruit juices with aloe vera.

Before departing, our students also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the city and local culture. On their one-day tour they visited the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Tuileries Garden and the Sacre Coeur Basilica.
